Yes, it's a graphite composite, they are not that thin mine seemed hard but they're rather brittle, like a wafer. Certainly not flexible like a paper or kevlar cone.
Going back to the old TAD's in general, I wonder how would one describe the sound signature of the old TSM / 240x models compared to whatever other speaker that's more common.

Hopefully you will be able to hear a pair of those eventually. I will offer some amateur thoughts while we wait for more voices of ownership and experience.
The cobbled together mess that I did with the wood horn and dual 2226 was outstanding. They can disappear into the room with good dynamics. That was done with 300W to each pair of woofers. With the subs relieving that power at 80Hz, it was very close to what I want. I've tried some single, lighter 15" cones with a bit higher sensitivity and my preference is leaning towards a double of these.
Had the thought of purchasing the DD66000/DD67000, but the repair parts availability squashed that. I've also entertained the idea of a 4345, 4350, 4355 clone and decided to experiment with a different horn.
