Old Western Electric speaker cables, any good?

I just upgraded my speaker cable, but someone (in Asia ) urge me to try the old Western Electric speaker cable. So I googled and found they are tinned copper wires wrapped in red cloth only, some blogs also claimed it would have much open and wide sound stage same as the modern cables.

The new, and the closest design is Blenden 9497, which also tinned, is said having the same result as old western electric's.

Is that true? Is there anyone has experience with old western electric cables, or the tinned cables?
Are these cables really better than with the new standards?

Probably someone who has a supply wants to gouge a pilgrim. I can't see how they could be better. Given a certain conductor size I doubt tinning has any real value. Over time copper and lead both tarnish. I might even have some that I got with my WE 12a and 13a.
