Older CL ads worth checking out?

I was doing a little random searching on CL today and found a couple ads that caught my interest. Any opinions?

No affiliation to either listing.

This one has several diferent items listed.

From experience, I can say that older CL ads aren't necessarily dead. A few times this happened - I got in touch with a seller, and the seller replied with an item still available for sale.

I have found that the longer the ad has been up the better the chance that they may accept a lower offer .

I can tell you exactly how it happened to me...I would list something for sale, try to arrange a good time with the first responder, play e-mail or phone tag, waste a day or two, he/she flakes out, contact second buyer, go through the same sha-bang, by the time the 2nd person flakes, 3-4 days have gone by, then you happen to e-mail in, ready to pick up with cash, and close by, boom - the sale happens with a 5 day old listing. (at least in my case!) And it was a desirable item, except some buyers who are not really ready to buy something or needed wife's approval would be trigger happy, and takes up everyone's time. Sorry for venting...

I emailed the seller with the dbx Soundfield's and received a response. He still has the speakers and plans to refoam them. I emailed him back and said I'd take them as is and save himthe trouble of doing the refoam. I'm interested to see how he responds. I may just go snatch them up over the weekend if he'll take the original price or less.
