I got 2 of these from neighbor free. 1 was in parts. Other complete.

Hooked up 1 and played it a while. Turned it off to listen to my Boston's a bit.

Heard a pop and smektvsmoke. Thought it was the Boston.

It wasn't. It was the sw12. It was off but still connected.

What gives?

Everything becomes garbage eventually.

Might be worth looking at a plate amp from Parts Express.

that was my initial intent because they were free I didnt know if they even worked. They were certainly worth the cost lol...

So before I even powered it up I had already been looking at parts express for the cheap daytona plates.

im not serious addict yet so I am not going to spend a fortune on the plates..I was addicted to car audio for years until recent..dont want to get to carried away on home stuff..

I was just wondering if these amps were known to suddenly die like that. I actually had the amp portion of this sub long time ago and used it to power a home sub. not too powerful at all so I already knew these wouldnt be enough before I played it .
