I just picked up a pair of Olson Continental-6 speakers, model number S-802. They're plywood cabinets with real wood veneer. Sealed enclosure with yellow fiberglass batting style material inside. Single 6.5" full-range driver, marked Olson S-755. Surround is rubber. No crossover to speak of. I thought these were from the 60s, but the drivers look more modern than that. I can't find any information about the speakers, and only one obscure reference to the S-755 driver being from the 60s (from an AK member scoring them on eBay 8 years ago).
Any ideas what I've got here? They sound decent, for small bookshelves at least. I'd almost think they were home-made, if not for the labeling. I've just never seen another Olson speaker like this, and there's no information about the company online.
Edit - Scratch that, I did find this: http://www.americanradiohistory.com...llaneous-Manufacturers/Olson-1974-Catalog.pdf
On page 66 there's the driver. #10 on that page. $13.50 in 1974 dollars is $67 in 2017 bucks. 35Hz-18kHz seems a little unrealistic for a single driver, but they do sound good. Wish I could find more about the speakers though, they're really quite beautiful.
