Did you enjoy Louisville? I have always liked Kentucky, and especially Louisville and Lexington.
I just returned from Louisville myself last week. Great trip. Bourbon, Bluegrass, and Throughbred Horse Racing. All of my favorites in one place.

Oh, yeah. Been there several times now and really love the city. My sister in law and her husband live in "The Highlands" area off Bardstown Road. That area seems to be really taking off, lots of restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. I still haven't been able to find a good "music club" scene, but they aren't into that. We've been to most of the tourist attractions, with the exception of the Muhammed Ali Center. I really want to do a day there next time I'm in town. Really enjoyed the Peerless Distillery tour - small, family owned distillery with in interesting history. There are several other distilleries I want to visit.

I'd like to do more touring around the state of Kentucky. I've been through the state several times, but never "off the beaten path" and that's where I always manage to find the best stuff.

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. I was keen on hearing your thoughts because I'm remotely considering a move to Kentucky. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone personally that lives there, so I can't get a "Behind The Scenes" view of the state. But every time I have been to Kentucky it has been a wonderful experience. From Moorehead to Lexington to Louisville to Bowling Green to Owensboro and south to Williamsburg and Monticello. I've even been to Hazard, KY a few times, but I never ran into the Dukes.

And, oddly, about the only thing I have not done yet in Louisville is go to the Muhammed Ali Center. I have to get that done next time. I stayed right in the heart of downtown Louisville this trip (near where they close off the street for walking and music and restaurant diners) last week and really enjoyed it. I tried to get on a tour of "Old Forrester" Bourbon, but they were booked up through September, so that was a no-go. I don't think I ever heard of Peerless Distillery, but there are now so many micro-distilleries that I can't keep track of them all. Bourbon has really surged in popularity in recent years, with me as well. But I will put Peerless on my list now. I have been to some distilleries near Lexington (the Big ones) like Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve. I actually met Jimmy, the head distiller of Wild Turkey in 2019 on a tour - just before Covid. What a great guy! That was a great tour, especially if you are a fan of Wild Turkey.

Thanks again for letting me know about your visit.
