Once you opened a sealed Reel to Reel Tape, can you still sell it as New?

Once selectively magnetized, it is no longer virgin stock. I would count it as 'new' if it had never been unspooled, though, and kept in pristine condition. Shrink wrap wasn't always a thing.

I think the price reflects how good he considers them to be and he even says they are "very good". If you can get a new one for what he's asking or close to it, he's probably looking for someone who doesn't know what new ones are worth. The price does speak to why I sold all my open reel stuff when I left Seattle, though my daughter still has my auto reverse Sony that I gave her.

New 7" reels with 1800 feet range from 25 to low 30s depending on type of tape. Most will be better than this tape. The boxes this tape comes in might be a plus but the plastic reel carton that the reel goes in is a pain in the ass to use. These are used tapes with a slight discount to new. Not what I would be seeking.

Hey that is just piling on. He figured out that it was his mind that decided these were priced as new but were in fact used tapes.

But folks can price stuff at whatever they can get for the product. Seen drug prices lately? But there are also prices right here in BT that make you wonder.

There is a lot of partial reads. That is what makes being on page one of BT so important. Then you have those guys that slurp lots of different gear bumping it. BT should be a no slurp zone and maybe we should have a forum or thread just for that in BT.
