After having recently cleaned both A & B speaker relays, the question I had was - how do I ensure B relays are in good condition over time if speakers are connected to the A terminals.

- Switch speakers between A & B terminals to ensure B relays are operational and exercised?

- Or if it's not necessary to physically connect speakers, is it ok to exercise the B relays while amp is on by switching the speaker switch on/off maybe 10 times once a month?

- Any other way?

Not really necessary. They will probably outlive you and me. I think I only cleaned the relay contacts on my 45 year old equipment once, and only because the contacts were very dirty or badly pitted.

This usually only happens if you get a spark between the contacts which is usually caused by DC or bad offset, or if your volume control happens to be turned up when the relay engages.

If they are working right now without any problems or drop outs, I wouldn't worry about it.
 
I agree that you don’t need to worry about it. If you always keep the volume down on start up the relay should last a very long time.
