Onkyo C-7030 or Marantz CD6000OSE Cd players?

I have just changed over to some vintage Onkyo separates and the last piece I needed was a Cd player. I picked up an Onkyo C-7030 for a song at Essex Bargain Hunt. It has great reviews and sounds fine. Today I got a Marantz CD6000 OSE off CL. It also sounds great and has great reviews. Although it is a few years older than the Onkyo. Which would you keep? Choices, Choices. :scratch2:

I think you need to spend more time with each before you make a decision.

On paper, the Onkyo would seem to have the edge, as it uses Wolfson DACs, but there's a lot more to a CD player than just the DAC. The Marantz' DAC is a Nippon Precision, about which I know exactly nothing...but based on Marantz' reputation - and Ken Ishiwata's input - I'm sure it's worthy.

It may come down to ergonomics and how well each player handles "problem" discs - everybody has some of those - and other non-audio points. As long as you have both, live with them; you might end up keeping both, for different reasons.

If you got both for a song I'd keep both, at least until you were sure which one you wanted to keep. I'd probably be more inclined to keep one that has a digital out (coax or TOSLINK) to connect an external DAC, which would be more technologically advanced.
