Sadly it doesn't seam that they are listed on there north american site which could mean we are getting shafted again.

80w @ 8ohms? No thanks, I'll take an old Integra M-508 or 506 with speaker A/B switch for 1/4 the price.

Well...it is an Onkyo. Their beauty usually is only skin deep. If it says 80wpc, that is what you get....not a drop more. (I am not saying 80wpc is not enough....for most people it probably is) I had one that, if I remember correctly was 125wpc, and I felt like they were being very liberal with their rating. But it certainly looked impressive...huge, green Meters. Awesome.
Their amps are hard to beat for looks! :thmbsp:

Very nice!!!! It would be nice if they offer a 100+ watt P/A soon. Also, a matching FM tuner w/good specs to round this set-up would be great!!

I can only hope that their next generation Home Theater receivers will also follow this styling line... The retro look is great thing!!

There are a couple of threads now on this subject.....great stuff. Blue meters would awesome!

Instant classics! Have you fellas seen the internals of the amp...............YOUSER!

yeah, I just finished reading the thread you created, as well as another new one created by someone right after they post in this one, lol!

Someone mentioned these componenets are not in the US Onkyo website, but they are overseas.

I also noticed last years iPod docking station that by-passes the internal DAC availability being the same. I can understand the docking station not being available in the US IF Onkyo didn't work out some sort of legal issues with Apple, but I don't get it with these components? You would think the Americans would have more disposable income to purchase these higher priced units? Or maybe there is more competiotion with other brands in the states? Or maybe it's just taking loger for Onkyo to update the US website?

Me, I do like the "looks" of the amp, but I won't buy it myself. For home theater, I would, and do have their HT receivers (1 in my TV system and 1 in my projector system). And I got an extra 2 ch receiver for just playing music along with my guitar. But for a 2 Ch main system, I don't think I would ever get their amps or pre unless it happens to be exceptional in both value and performance. And I think a lot of people, at least in the US, would feel the same. But I do want that iPod dock!! ;)
