Sitting here at work pondering my next move....
I purchased an Onkyo M-506RS that was working when it left the previous owner. Now after a few seconds it goes into protection mode and meter lights go off (with or with out speakers and sub attached). I do not see any protection mode light.
I have done a dim bulb test and light goes dim when protection mode kicks in.
I have removed, cleaned and checked all the fuzes. Initial visual checks show no burnt or damaged components. Have not de-oxit any pots yet.
When taking covers off I noticed bottom panel corner looked like it had been dropped at some time. Possibly when owner removed from rack.
My next move will be to carefully check any solder connections and then do test proceedures in SM.
My question is if anyone is familiar with this unit and might know what the problem is or where to look when I start tonight.
Pre-amp is Onkyo Pre-amp P306RS connected by Onkyo Super Servo Cable.
