Onkyo M-508 Amplifier Diode

I have been doing a search trying to find a replacement LTZ-MR15 light emitting diode for my M-508. I need two new ones for the left channel of the M508. Everywhere I look they are out of stock and I found a thread here on audiokarma where there was a discussion about replacements and a part number was given but my Tech is saying it wont work. Thread below...

"Buddy blew up his Onkyo M504.
Along with a bunch of smoked parts, I found a fried LTZ-MR15 LED.
Its not in indicator, its a board component. They used a bunch of them.
Sort of pretty when things are working.

SO, what do I use are a replacement?

Its 25mW, 10mA, 1.7-2.3V with 4v reverse voltage.

I can find indicator type LEDs with 10mA, 2.3V at mouser, part number 521-9251F but the data sheet link is broken and so I don't know the current or reverse voltage.

Space or size is not a problem.

Help please."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

you could use a combination of rectifier diodes that add up to the same voltage drop ..
maybe 2 in series ...
no real need for led diodes in there ...

Thanks....I will ask my tech about this. I did just find a website called partsimple.com that had them listed and they didn't say out of stock so I simply paid for them and will hope for the best. The led ones are a little useful when tracking down problems. If one channel has all them lit and the other only has one you can trace the problem usually to right after that the diode that is lit and the ones that are not lit. This is the issue I was having and it would fix when you pressed on the circuit board around where they had not lit. I was assuming a bad solder joint but managed to fry out a few diodes messing around.

That was my thread. The plain LEDs worked when installed in pairs, that is, matched side to side on the circuit. It was the voltage divider circuit. Going from the specs, LED appeared to be the closest to the original diode spec.

The owner reports that the amp is still rocking.

Ok I think we have this problem solved then. Thanks for all the help. Ill check back and make a note if that website partsimple had them in stock or not.
