Hello all, I have had a M5060R for the past 10 years and it runs like a champ. I have just recently DeoxIt. some one just offered me $600 for it. I realize the unit is almost 40 years old and I am worried one day I'm am going to turn it on and get a puff of smoke. It had original caps and I have no idea how much it would cost to recap. I am wondering if anyone has any insight as how the Onkyo M5060R stacks up to other current amps. Wondering if I should let it go, or maybe just keep.

I just put new lights into one. Big fan of it, there's nothing in it that will just fail randomly.
A restore could be expensive. It's got three full size relays and four big can caps.

I had one for a while. I never thought is was all that great sounding. Didn't necessarily do anything wrong, but aside from power and big meters it didn't do anything special either. Kind of disappointing really. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to the giant metered Onk's. I just think there are better amps for the money that you can get for them. I sold mine for $400 way before any big puffs of smoke, which I knew were due someday.
