Onkyo TX-4500 Locked light does not turn on

I have an Onkyo TX-4500 receiver where the blocked indicator light doesn't turn on even though the radio station is tuned correctly. I know this receiver has a quartz system. Could the lamp be burned out or is there a problem with the quartz system? Another problem is that the phono-1 light sometimes turns on and sometimes doesn't. Could it be a bad connection or will the lamp need to be replaced?

Try checking to see if the lamp is bad.

Agree that the locked lamp itself is a likely suspect. A lucky long shot could be that the sensor sensitivity switch on the rear panel is set too high.

The phono lamp seems more likely to be a flaky switch.

The "locked" light might be faulty because it has only lit up once since I got the device. The sensor sensitivity switch on the back panel is usually set to NORM or LOW, and it still doesn't light up. The PHONO-1 light came on yesterday but hasn't lit up since. Could it be a bad connection in the switch?

If you feel okay taking the cover off (with the unit off and unplugged), maybe use Deoxit D100L contact cleaner on all the circuit board connections.

And the lamp holders, if they are removable.
