I've read that different integrateds and receivers can sound better or worse than others when using the HP out jack. Being the non-EE type, I really know understand why this is.
My question is how is the sound out of the 1/4" HP out jack on an Onkyo TX-870 receiver (that I own) from the late '80's. I'm planning on giving myself a Christmas present of AT A900x headphones. I was wondering how the two are going to sound together.
