Haha, which is of course how I stumbled across that site- was trying to remember the model number. Those speakers are pretty, though. They just don't sound anywhere near as good as they look. Those CS-3000s look really pretty, though. I bet they sound better than the CS-a700.

The cabinets are awesome on those. It's too bad back then they often made the cabs great, then didn't seem to care what they actually sounded like.

Ive owned a pair from that site. The SB 400s. Nice speakers. Though long gone now, due to a need for cas at the time. Bought by russian speaking folk no less.

wow thanks for the link. This is the first time ive seen a line up of the SB series i had.

Wow, were any of these sold in the US - or were we forced to purchase Realistic speakers?

No slight on Realistic speakers intended - I have several pairs but none are in same class as speakers pictured on that site.

I've read Aurex speakers are Toshiba's Cool pictures . Here are cool looking Mitsubishi Diatones at
Audio Database good Japan home gear site. Kinda like the vintage Knob site here.
http://audio-database.com/MITSUBISHI-DIATONE/diatoneds/index2.html

I'm listening to a pair of Diatone DS-77hrx right now, which are pictured on that Audio Database link. They're extremely nice sounding, solid speakers (except for the vinyl veneer).

It seems there are a lot of nice speakers that we didn't get- like the Aurex brand. I wonder if they are made by somebody else for them? Diatone made drivers for other companies.

Many of them remind me of Yamaha, Sansui and Pioneer speakers. Some even have grills like vintage AR speakers. Weren't Coral sold here in the U.S.? Maybe their drivers?

The Technics SB-007 speakers on there are the same as my Technics SB-7000A 's....except wood grain side panels.
