Opinion

Hello all,
I have a pair of Marantz Imperial 6's that I got at a local Goodwill for $25. I the cabinets were separated so I refinished them and got the cabinets back together. They sound great still. what's the value of these speakers?

I will say $100 on EBay. Lower in local.
That would be the fair price, but you may get more if you can find someone looking to complete their Marantz system and you can use the Marantz Tax to your favor. As always, there is a "priced to move" price and an "I can patiently wait" price. I'd probably list them at a buck and a half and see if anyone bites.

I wouldnt say that. If someone looking for completing a Marantz system, they will go for Imperial 9 or 8, or 7 as minimal. 6 or 6g is would not be in a collector's list.

Depends on the someone and their exact ambitions, and motivations.

While i agree with you in large part, just about the time we state is as fact along comes the exception, the fella needing speakers with a smaller footprint, or a "B pair" for a 2nd space/room.

The world of audio offers more exceptions than rules.

I'd also say somewhere around $100.

A year or so ago I sold a pair of Imperial 5G's locally for that price in less than a day. The buyer was someone completing a Marantz system. Whether I lucked out or underpriced them is up for debate. Neither of us were unhappy.
