Opinions on a preamp

Recently purchased an adcom GFA-545II amplifier presently paired with a yamaha C-4 preamp. Question .. will i notice sound improvement if i purchase an adcom preamp or should i just stick with the C-4? Is the yamaha c-85 preamp superior to the C-4? Thanks a lot for any advise.

depends a lot on the associated gear and the cables, and whether or not you're using any power conditioning. Adcom does tend to have better synergy when mated together, but the Yamaha separates are very solid pieces.
