But if your doing critical listening at a levels of 60-80db, 6-8 feet away from the source, why do you need so much headroom - wattage? Ok, Pro audio i understand, a band, a bar, a banquet hall you need more wattage to fill the space and that the amps won't fatigue , but a 12 x 18' room? i don't know much about headroom, but i think it's equivalent to a reserve gas tank in case you run out of gas there is a reserve, but a modest reserve i can understand but a reserve equal to the actual gas tank it self? that i don't understand...what does all that actual headroom do that is actually audible? What extra does it extract from the source?
