I was lucky enough to be given a super clean, fully working McIntosh C29 preamp. At the moment I am using it with a 6L6 pushpull tube amp which I built 2 years ago.
The other day I was just window shopping at a 2nd hand store and found aDBX BX3 which I though it was rare in special here in Japan where Iive. I have heard about DBX for their dedicated gear but never heard that they made home hifi audio stuff... anyway, it really got me intrigued specially since wasn’t overpriced in my opinion (Around 400 usd) and advertised as in fully working order with the possibility of return during 3 months if something goes wrong.
Does anybody have experience with this power amp? In special combined with the c29. I though could be nice since I tried to look at the back and I couldn’t move it. It was so heavy! the transformer in this thing seems to be huge, maybe toroidal? If it is I bet is pretty good, but never listened to one so any help will be really appreciated. Btw I am using yamaha NS1000m as my main speakers.
