Opinions on old Pioneer CS-454 speakers

Hi!
I might be able to buy a pair of small Pioneer CS-454 speakers for around 30 bucks to go with a small vintage system Im setting up.

But having a hard time to find any information about these speakers.
Anyone got experience of them?

Thanks for input!

Plastic trim rings around the drivers, FR graph pasted to the baffle, these are the classic signs of highly unremarkable speakers.

The interesting factoid is that they claim to be made in Belgium which seems a strange point of origin for cheap, low quality loudspeakers which they very much are.

Will they be adequate for your intended purposes?

That's a question that only you can answer.

Two things i can assure you of:

a) they're not going to dramatically appreciate in value or become sought after collectibles.

b) you won't have to wait in line or compete with other buyers to get them.

My advice, up your budget another 20 bucks and watch craigslist, much better speakers in the same price range will come along.

Thanks for you reply, Bowtie!
And me who thought that the cooler-than-me-guys who back in the eighties had black speakers with charts on them had the good gear.
Learning new stuff every day in this new hobby.

I would appreciate suggestions of good second hand speakers for around 50 bucks. I'm I Sweden so unfortunately Craigslist is unavailable.

Cheers!
