opinions on onkyo M series amps

I only have limited experience to hearing just a few amps( kenwood basic M2, onkyo M 504, adcom gfa 5500) so what does everyone consider the sound of the onkyo M anps to be?...never heard a tube amp, so dont really kno what the (warm sound ) of one is....anyway the reason Im asking is that Im thinking on getting a more powerful amp, like the sound of the onkyo and my kenwood. thanks

I own a m508 and I wouldn't consider it to be warm sounding. Detailed and pleasant to listen to would be a more accurate description of how mine sounds. I haven't heard it sound bad yet with any speaker but it sounds particularly nice driving a pair of ads 810's.

I have an Integra M-5030, the little brother to the M-504. I think it sounds terrific. It's currently driving a pair of Vandersteen 2Ce speakers, and doing a Yeoman's job of it, too. (I modified it by replacing/upgrading the speaker output connectors on the rear to accept bananas.) It's edging out a McIntosh MC2105 in terms of clarity and detail, though the Mac certainly "sounds bigger" and has more oomph when the occasional crescendo calls for it. I like the meter ballistics, though I usually don't look at them. The build quality is decent and the quasi dual-mono design is nice.
