Opinions on the Technics SL-FM1

I bought one which I'll be bring ing back from Japan, but am second guessing because of how obscure it is. There's very little information on it. I was wondering what everyone on here thinks, should I sell it and get a more common turntable whilst i'm in Japan?
Thankss

Cool! That's a new one to me. I'd add it to my collection without hesitation. But that's me ...

The tonearm and other parts look like some of the cheaper Technics from the era except it appears to have a fixed headshell. That would be a deal breaker for most. Yes it could be a problem but chances are it's really not that complex inside except for the FM transmitter but it appears that it also has RCA out.

Fm in Japan does not share the same frequency range as in the US, you might find that part problematic as this xmits on 78mhz.

So make sure you pick up a tuner while you are there!

It also says in the manual that you can adjust the frequency in the event of adjacent station interference. I'm not sure by how much though. It might be a very narrow range.

78 MHz (± 1.5 MHz) as it turns out, so a very narrow range and below the North American standard. However it also has Line Out.
