Opinions on Toshiba SR-F770 Turntable

I was wondering if anyone had feedback about the Toshiba SR-F770 Direct Drive turntable. I currently run a Realistic LAB 400 with a Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.

How does the Toshiba rate compared to my Realistic? Improvement, lateral move or step down?

I've not heard that particular model. I sold Toshiba tables at an audio store that I worked in way back when and they were decent tables. I believe that most of them were made by CEC back then - a solid maker of good tables. If its in working condition and available at a good price, I would think it has a good chance of being a very nice table - depending on what your goal is. I think a lot of the Realistics were made by the same table maker, so I'm not sure if it would be an upgrade or more likely a lateral move. Maybe one of the TT mavens here on AK will be able to shed more light on it. Looks like a decent tablet though.
