I've been looking for a power amp to pair with my old Citation 17 preamp that is now off at college with my son. Not really been looking actively, more like waiting for something to fall into my lap.
Yesterday, my old friend Snade alerted me to a HK PA2100 Signature Series power amp at his local Goodwill thrift for $50. For that price, I couldn't pass, he picked it up and made sure it worked and I am picking it up this morning.
I'm not familiar with the HK equipment from this vintage ('92-'95). From the HK website it is a 65W bridgeable amp with fairly impressive specs. Its 100W big brother, the PA2200 appears to have retailed for $630 so I'm guessing the 2100 went for $400-500 when new.
I plan to take it to my son next weekend to use in his dorm room in lieu of his present Accurian and T-Amp. He is now using the Cit. 17 for its phono section and switching capabilities. His present speakers are Infinity Ref. Ones and RS1000 speakers and a Dual 510 w/ Micro Acoustics 2002e.
Any opinions or info on this amp are appreciated.
