I have a Thorens TD 145MKII arriving at my door on Sunday, bought and paid for. As part of another deal I have a chance to scoop a Systemdek II with Grace 727 tonearm. Can anyone compare the 2 tables? The good the bad the ugly greatly appreciated!

Ok...if not a comparison of the 2 anyone with experience with either one please chime in, i'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

I have heard both though not side buy side and at least a year apart. I would think the SD table would isolate a little better and probably get the nod due to a newer arm ( Depending ). Both are nice tables and you should be proud of either. Let us know what you think when you get them.

Systemdeks are Scottish tables. Here's a pic of the Systemdek II.
'Looks' like a nice deck. But, you know about 'looks'. Do a web-search and see if you can find a review or two. Is that their arm?

There is a fair bit of info on the net scattered here and there. I've just started looking recently. I'm not sure what arm is on that table in the pic but so far i've found several different combos.
The Thorens won't be here now till Monday :dammit:

I'm sorry but it seems that I will have to defy a directive from a Moderator. Please excuse me but the thought of an avatar like that makes me need to run to the loo and :puke2:

Wasn't the NHL cancelled? I thought it was going to be turned into Icecapades or something.

I thought all the hockey players were going to join the rest of the hasbeens in a rip-roaring show where they skate and sing tv theme songs. :banana2:  :D

I am spinning my TD-145 as I type. The one thing I don't like about it is it does not isolate at all. Even with it's sprung suspension it hates footfalls and gets a bit boomy next to the speaks. It isn't set up permanently yet, so that could be part of it, but any little bump or movement can cause it to jump. As for sound, it is pretty good, I enjoy it, but it isn't as engaging as the TD-124.
