Opportunity to Purchase Fostex PM841 3-way Powered Monitors for $200

I found a CL advertisement selling a pair of these for $275. I got them down to $200 cash. I'm having trouble finding info on these. No one is selling them on eBay or Amazon and it appears like their website is down.

Are these good speakers for a AT-LP120xUSB setup? Is it a fair price? I also plan on adding a digital component in the future since these speakers have two inputs.

$200 appears to be a good price for a pair of these.

However. I'm not sure these make sense in your situation. First, the volume controls are on the back. Second, you'd have to turn up the volume on each speaker separately. Third, these have balanced inputs and your turntable has unbalanced outputs. Fourth, there is no input switching (yes, there are dual inputs, but they are connected in parallel, and therefore no way to switch between them)

None of these problems are insurmountable (easiest way would be to add a preamp), but I have to wonder why you're not just looking at a receiver+speakers combination, which would give you a much larger assortment of equipment to choose from.

Thanks for the response. I actually ended up not going with the Fostex PM841s. On craigslist, I found a pair of Onkyo D-N3XA Bookshelf speakers for $35 and a Beomaster 6000 Receiver that needs a minor LCD repair for $150. I'm picking them up Thursday and can't wait!
