Well.... ( a little long)
I gotta say this: WOW!

(my aplogies to those who don't like the dancing banana but I was dancing last night)
1st: The package was shipped when he said it would ship and FedEx delivered it when they said they would deliver it. Great!
2nd: I told my wife to open the box and look inside (preparing myself for the worst in the event it was not packaged well) and she did. She said everything looked good so I had to wait the entire day (it was delivered in the morning) to see it, growing more excited by the hour. Furthermore, she failed to mention the double-box packaging for which I paid an extra $5. Another great!
3rd: I got home she had put it out on the kitchen table for me. The case looked fantastic; sharp corners, wood in very good shape with only an occasional groove in the veneer but no major dents or chips. Face was a little dirty and the slightest bit of corrosion on the black metal grate in the back above the heatsinks. Great great!
4th: I took it downstairs to my work bench and hooked it up. Sound is nice and full but the bass and treble controls don't seem to have any effect. :dammit: Then I notice the little switch between the turnovers which says "Tone" on or off. :withstpd: I flip the switch and everything works fine. I have never had a receiver with that feature before. Everything seems functional. So yet another great.
5th: I pull off the cover, the face, and the bottom cover. A little corrosion inside and a little corrosion on the bottom cover but it came from the east coast so I was actually expecting worse considering all the humidity. There is a fair amount of lint and grime around the controls and the face is dirty but not filthy. The lint cleans up and face cleans up pretty well also. I cleaned the knobs and switch covers. Also, all the bulbs are working and the tuner ir pretty well aligned. Great again!
6th: Using some compressed air I blow out all the lint I can but really there isn't any as it was obviously already blown out before I got it. I look at all the caps and don't see an ruptured or leaking and there aren't any marks on the boards from excessive heat or blown components. All the compnents appear original so nothing swapped out and replaced with cheap components.
Last: I remove all the pictures from the entertainment center upstairs and the receiver is sitting in their place on top in full view and looks great. I hooked up the DVD/CD player and turned on some Little Feat. The wife notices the pictures displaced but so far doesn't seem upset. :yippy:
Just a few things I have questions about. Is there anyway to shine up the aluminum face without taking off the lettering and where can I find some replacement feet as the felt is missing from three of the four? Other than that I am very happy with the purchase. Now, it comes down to playing with speakers to get the perfect sound. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread. You guys are great!
