Optimus 10 Band Graphic Equalizer Worth it for $40?

I need an equalizer for my system and this would be my first one (if I bought it, of course). I was also looking at some other ones like a Vector Research, but it was out of my price range at $75.

I also read some good AND bad things about the IMX enhancer, but mostly good things.

These Realistic products are generally not bad in my experience. They are rebadged Technics or Teac components. I had an Optimus EQ in my system for many years before I decided to get go in a different direction. I probably wouldn't pay more than say $40 or $50, but if it is in good shape, you really can't go wrong.
 
How far are you away from the seller? If you can pick it up and pay cash he'd probably take $20 or less. These days it can cost anywhere from $15-$30 to ship a component depending on distance and carrier. Add in his ebay and paypal fees and he might be making $5 on something he paid $5 for at a yard sale. I regularly buy non audio items in bulk for resale online and these days I give tons of stuff away to the thrift store because after fees and shipping it's just not worth my time.

Isn't that the truth!!! Ebay has really become "fee-bay".
