Optimus-15 Speakers 40-9156 - Information wanted

I have encountered a set of speakers I'm not at all familiar with from my Radio Shack days.

Optimus-15, stock #40-9156. Made in Denmark, which surprised me. No date code on the photos I have, but the stock number suggests the 90's (though is not diagnostic by any means).

I can find no information about them anywhere.

Wow, those look a lot better than almost any other speakers I've seen from RS. I don't recall ever seeing a model like that. Are you in the US?

The photos are from a listing out of the Netherlands. That said, the speakers show as custom made for Tandy, which suggests either Tandy US, or a pre-InterTan European store. That would place it prior to 1986. Now that I think about it, this could be the source of the high stock number and is likely the case.

They look impressive - somewhat reminiscent of the phase coherent Bowers & Wilkins DM6. I'd love to get some information on them if anyone here has any.

The use of metric units for volume and weight pretty much rules out a US-bound model.

That SEAS tweeter is a very nice sounding unit. The rest looks more ambitious than the Radio Shack speakers I've seen, but I suspect some damping on the angled shelf and the side of the midrange enclosure might be worth adding.

I would take a chance on them if the price was right. They look nice and would probably sound decent.

Cool looking.

Seas tweet does look to be the same as on the early BA70.
Braun perhaps Isophon mids/woofers?

Yeah.....thick open cell foam on top half of the "time aligned" baffle.

Sorry, no info to give
