Original Advent Woofer Refoam

I just finished doing the refoam on my masonite Advent woofers and they seem to be working fine but the kit I used form Ebay seller Vintage AR had paper dust caps while my original Advent woofers had the fine mesh type. I didn't quite have my thinking cap on and went ahead and replaced the original mesh caps with the paper ones since I had cut them out to use shims to center the coil.

Anyhow, will I run into problems with the voice coil overheating or some such now that there is no longer a vented cap?

Thanks, I don't normally listen at high volumes I would say no more than 85- 90 db at most - I use the advents as speakers for my TV and DVD, with a Marantz 1200 powering them they are sounding fine after the refoam. I was actually surprised how easy the refoam process turned out to be.

I always order my surrounds from Rick Cobb,and with the foams,I get a CD that plays a steady 30Hz tone,that centers the cone.I have yet to take off the dustcap,when doing my surrounds.You make your first glue joint to the cone,itself.After that sets up,you make the glue joint to the frame,while playing the 30 Hz tone,which centers the cone.I haven;t failed at this procedure yet.So easy,a caveman could do it.

You should get another mesh cap, it doesn't matter if you have to get a larger mess cap to cover the old one.
