Original Chorus???

VINTAGEO

Newbie in New B.
I hear a lot about the Chorus ii speakers, but there doesn't appear to be a lot of info on the original Chorus..
Are they not as good? I recently acquired a near mint pair and I love them!
Most comparisons are of Cornwall vs chorus iis
I have both original Cornies and Chorus now, but havent A/B ed them yet, I'm guessing it will be difficult to choose a winner, they both are IMO!
Can anyone help me decode them ?

PS I love BIG speakers!!20180623_071231[1].jpg 20180621_212225[1].jpg 20180208_174617[1].jpg

Chorus Walnut Oil and I believe the date code on that one is 1989...hopefully someone can chime in with any more info....

As to sound, the Chorus differed from the Chorus II in that there is no rear passive and yours have the front firing ports...you can get yours into the corners instead of out from them as I had to with Chorus IIs or Quartets...enjoy, they should be very capable of speakers that I predict you will find excellent except perhaps when compared directly with a speaker with more bass...

C9FD4068-F109-4C5C-ADE2-DBC37805571E.jpeg My chorus I’s are refined and explosive and still original. I am not opposed to upgrading them, in fact I’m doing research, but I sure sit happily currently.

Well I reluctantly sold off the Cornwalls, but the Chorus are staying put! My space is just to small for cornys, and the corus sound better here, not to mention the footprint is considerably smaller.
I sold them to a friend, who has more room. I can still hear them occasionally. They do sound much better there..

I bought a pair new back in the early 90's and traded them for my La Scalas. If memory serves, they lacked the deep bass the II's had. But I could definitely crank the heck out of them without distortion.

I’m running 250 W per channel at 8ohms and the bass came alive. Yes they are efficient like as all Klipsch seem to be but these wanted some power and they make thunder.

This is the new setup, and yes they like power! I'm currently feeding them 300 wpc of pure Sansui Bliss!20181219_153301.jpg 20181219_153015.jpg
