Original Color of KLH Model Six Grill Cloth?

Hey guys,

I'm just curious if any of you know what the actual authentic original color was for the KLH Model Six grill cloth? I have a beautiful pair however the grills are like a light yellow/brown/butterscotch color that actually kinda looks good (I think, wife does not lol). Was this the original color of the grills or were they more white/beige? I'd like to make my sixes looks as close to original as possible

Yours looks like early versions with the epoxied drivers and the terry cloth fabric.
The color is often a little lighter than yours.

Also, later versions had a tighter weave fabric.

Ok gotcha. So mine is darker from age..:I’d like to get them lighter like yours and Bodyblue’s sixes. Any suggestion to lighten the actual cloth? Bleach?? LOL...I picked up a pair of model 20 speakers to go with my model 20 system and there was a stain on one of the grills. I sprayed the stain with cleaner/bleach and left it in the sun for a while. Worked perfect...

Oh and I’m pretty sure that mine are the earlier versions however Must’ve been refurbished or something before I got them because the drivers are screwed in and the grills weren’t epoxied in...Never taken them apart because they’ve always sounded perfect

Bleach might be a little intense. Sometimes it wrecks the fabric. I'd
start with some kind of stain remover. No need to soak the fabric- just
want to clean the visible part. Spray and dab...

Unless you were going to replace the cloth all together I would not mess with them. That fabric is probably pretty fragile, if it is like mine, and if you mess with it that might make for a problem.

Also have you re sanded your cabinets and re oiled them? It is fast and easy and looks great after.
 
Now if there was an unsightly spot on an otherwise spotless fabric then I'd go from mild to aggressive depending on effectiveness. Never bleach.

Let's see some full frame shots of the cabs. I bet they're nice.
