70's era Larger Advent speakers. Woofers have new foam surrounds, fried egg tweeter. Sound great! Grill cloth is tired and needs replaced. Easy to do. Local fabric stores have similar cloth that looks better than original. Cabinets are woodgrain vinyl in fair condition.

why do these look like something a child put together?
theres a pair on my local CL going really cheap and they look like these, but i just cant get past the way they look.

I know what you mean.
But it comes with a grill to cover them.
NLA looks much better than original without grills.

They also look better in the real veneer and hardwood trim cabinets. However they all can sound very good.

i like the looks of the newer style.
did advent maybe purchase cabinets from other companies and throw their drivers in them the best way they could back then?
they just look like something i would have thrown together 30 years ago LoL.

Don't let the looks fool you, these things sound pretty good.

But you're right - they do look like something built out of spare parts you'd find in your garage.
