Original stylus for the Pickering XV-15

Hi! Early apologies if there's a good thread for this already - I couldn't find one, but please point me to one if you can.

I scored a Pickering XV-15 really cheap, yay! "Stylus condition uknown", but I took a chance. Sounds mighty fine at first play, at least. VTF 1,5 (understood that I should check that better, with regards to the brush, though)

So, pic is coming up. And question is: Did I get an original stylus or not?

Original Pickering styli, to my understanding, will say "D(number)", and have a gold/silver dot or ellipse and a Pc logo on the front.
 
Of topic question: what table is that? I have a Sansui with a headshell like that and mine had that cart on it when I got it. Just curious.

Keeps the gold bodied brother company.
A spare for when needed. It was the original mate of the gold bodied
until I located a couple of new D625's from across the pond.
I should have grabbed up three..Oh Well.

Woohoo...! it seems...? Haven’t got the better camera available atm, but maybe slightly better pics at least.

It’s a Luxman PD 282, but the cart came mounted already, so not my headshell...

VTF range for the 625 is 3/4 - 1 1/2g.
Add 1g to that if you use the brush.
 
Yes. Balance your arm with brush attached, then add around 2.40 grams total VTF.
Antiskate to match.

And if it sings, it means that stone is in working order.
When it is worn out, if you like it, my suggestion is to send it for a simple retip.
Replace only the stone tip, using the same stylus other than that.

For example, you could use a diamond tip taken from a new VN95E stylus.
They are cheap and quality of the diamond is very good.
That way, you'll preserve the original sound.
