Ortofon or excell cartridge for my Dual 504

I bought my first tt yeasterday. A dual 504. It seem to be on really good shape but lack the needle. It has an excel es70 cartridge but my father also gave me an ortofon om10 (also without needle).

So, which is better? Excel or ortofon?

Does the ortofon will be heavy enough for my 504? On dual-reference.com, the minimal weight for 504 cartridge is 5.5g and an ortofon om10 is 5g...

Welcome to the AK turn table forum.

Consider replacing the stylus for the Excel ES-70 cartridge for the time being.

Replacing the Excel ES-70 cartridge with the Ortofon OM 10 would require aligning the new cartridge with a protractor.

The following stylus should work.
