Ortofon SPU dropped and shattered. HELP

Greetings,

I slipped on ice today and dropped a TD124 with an Ortofon SPU cart. The table is fine but boy did the headshell shatter.

What type of headshell / cart is this? I’m freaking out and my Google skills aren’t great. I’m a local repair guy so this is devastating to me money wise, it seems like I may be out 1K or more. The stylus is broke, copper wires no longer attached to cart, and headshell smashed. Generator looks intact but who knows.

Any advice, spare one hanging around, or any tips on handling this is appreciated.

I’m crying right now.

I think this thing is toast.

Looks to be a SPU-GT type with the integrated step up transformer. There is a comparable vintage SPU headshell on ebay for 200$. You may have some luck sending it to Groovetickler to get the cartridge rebuilt but all in may not be worth it...

The headshell could be glued together again, the main concern is if the coils are intact or if the tieback is broken.
They can be retipped with a better cantilever and stylus but repair is going to depend on what is broken.
