OT: Arkansas road trip, where to go

I guess this is off topic, but I'm making a little work trip the next couple days. Memphis, little rock, Texarkana. Anybody know any mcintosh dealers, audio shops or record stores I should try to visit? I have been to George Merrill's shop in Memphis. Thanks!

There are a couple of used record shops in LR/NLR area that have pretty extensive selections (by Arkansas standards, anyway).

Been Around Records on University Ave in LR
Arkansas Record Exchange on McArthur Dr. in NLR

There is a flea market on Hwy 67/7th Street in Texarkana, TX. One vendor there has a bunch of records but they are not sorted. Go to the back room of his booth. The flea market is a couple hundred yards east of Kings Highway. That vendor may not be there anymore. He's been battling some serious health issues for a while.

If you like to search thrift shops, don't waste you time in LR or Texarkana.

Custom Audio was the McIntosh dealer in Little Rock for many years. I haven't lived there since '97, so they may or may not still be in business. They used to be located on Rodney Parham Rd. in Little Rock.

On another note, Little Rock has some of the best food of anywhere I've ever lived though . . . try the Buffalo Grill (Little Rock - Cantrell Rd.), Grandpa's Catfish House (North Little Rock - Osage), or Sim's BBQ (Little Rock - Geyer Springs Rd.) for a killer plate of food!

Museum was small and neat, but I didn't get to listen to anything because the main guy was out of town. Went to the factory, but they didn't have anybody to give me a tour of their museum either. Maybe on the trip back through...

Thanks for the food recommendations, macman. I'm in Texarkana Texas now and headed here for wind down and dinner later: http://hopkinsicehouse.com/

Amen on the food brother!! I moved away from Little Rock in 2004, have missed the food more than anything else: Bruno's Little Italy, Fu-Lin's, The Faded Rose, No-Name BBQ.....plus lots of great Mexican places.

Don't know if Custom Audio is still open, but A Google search will make u think so.

I drive by the Klipsch factory twice a day but never have stopped there. Didn't know they had a museum at the factory.

Yup. They have a 4 part tour on YouTube. Sounds like there is one guy who takes people through it.

I apologize for the terrible pics, but here are a few from the two klipsch museums.

In Benton they have a lot of flea markets, off of 30. I think there's on called blue suede shoes or something similar that has a record store-size amount of records in one booth

Sorry, my iPhone lens is all scratched up and it's all I had.

I also found a record store in Memphis and bought a James Brown album, good God!
