Outlaw Bikers

Brian

An Old Geezer
Watching Outlaw Bikers on the histroy channel and it has the OPP recording a wiretap using a Philips deck, either a 4504 or my 4506, they do not pan over far enought to the right to see which. Makes my day and justifies my faith that this deck is a workhorse. Or, it was just the cheapest thing they could find for the 15-25 second clip.

Those Philips decks are incredible workhorses indeed. They just ask for belt replacement from time to time. 45XX series - just fine (if you find a good piece that hasn´t been tortured too much), 7125 - the same thing. But once you lay your hands on the 7150 and 7300, get ready to solve some REAL problems. I happen to have one 7150 in my collection. The sound is perfect but the mechanical part is just nightmare. If you want the best by Philips, get 4520 or 4522.

I am see more vintage equipment (props) in movies/TV series now. Or they were there and I just was "Not" looking. My Older Brother had 4504( i think) and he loved it. Be glad when my Revox is back from being restored. I will see if the History HD channel has a re-run of this show. Thanks.
