Pairing vintage receiver with modern D-class power amp

OP got the info he needed.

I'm curious about the Class D clipping statement.

That's the nature of conversations. They meander.

Technobabble. That's a good one.

EDIT- I'll ask @Hammett to respond via PM, rather than risk confusing the OP.
Its about the nature of things Class D, switching. Don't clip and don't worry or even think about it. But... that rabbit can be fun to chase, a bit.

Not in a thread where the OP is afraid to barely raise the volume because all the noise he's read.

I think members with more experience could be more helpful with a better job at reading the room.

Feel free to experiment and try new things. That is one of the main interests for me in this hobby. While that Pioneer is certainly more than capable of driving your speakers it is so easy to try driving them with more power why not try it. I have done this many times with both tube amps and high powered SS.

I have a recently acquired old Pioneer quad receiver in the garage system now running 2 channel through a pair of NLA’s that sounds great. It is sitting right over a B&K 4420 200 watt amp that I will eventually try. That little 20 watt amp is enough to annoy the neighbors if I let it with no problem and will sound very nice as I wash the boat this afternoon.IMG_3017.jpeg

Good deal on some Fosi monoblocks right here https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/fosi-v3-mono-amps-x2.1094299/
If you like the sound, keep’m. If not, move them along.

Have fun and enjoy the music!
