Palladia Concerts - Petty, McCartney

[Maicobmw]

Several times over the last few months and most recently over the weekend I've really enjoyed watching and listening to the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers concert on Palladia (Soundstage production). Man, what a show - those guys can still really get after it. The biggest revelation to me was the performance of Scott Thurston on backing vocals, guitar, and harp, what a talent that guy is. I understand he has also played with Iggy and the Stooges among others.

Contrarily, the Paul McCartney concert sucked big time, I mean really lousy, nothing much else to say. I think Sir Paul should just rest on his laurels at this point.

Saw Led Zep last night. That was pretty good. Palladia's one reason I'm going to put my spare number cruncher DAC on the Plasma's digital audio out and try pumping that baby into my rig. Hopefully without melting down the whole works. Never have bothered with a home theatre sound system.

No HT system for me either, the Sansui 9090 (in rotation with a KA-9100) and stacked Advents do just fine for me.

Cool. How do you come out of the TV and into the Kenny?

I go directly from the cable box audio out to the aux input on the amp/receiver.
