I recently acquired a panasonic rf2200...let me tell you sure it isnt a monster reciever, but one helluva dxer on am ,sw and even fm is awesome..Im currently in the process of restoring it to excellent operational condition, It was being thrown away because it supposedly didnt work , a little deoxit on the pots an wow... its liek new, i sprayed the tuning cap etc, now to spend a few hours in our rf alignment room at the college...its a lead room coper between the door jambs etc... u cant even get a signal in or out of there which is what you need when aligning sensitive equipment.... ANybody else want to chime in on this fince piece of gear...oh by the way i was picking up wsb 750am from atlanta here in central PA..no external antenna..Im def amazed by this radio.

I bought one of those brand new in 1979 for just $180. Whatta radio! Adding a wire antenna on the back gilds the lily as far as AM and SW goes, lemme tell you. My biggest catch with that radio was picking up the crew of an orbiting Space Shuttle directly overhead, not via an earth relay station.

Just don't ever spray any contact cleaner on the tuning capacitor plates. I did and the tuning scales are now way off. They never went back to normal again.

I gave the radio to a friend back in the late 80's when I "moved up" (?) to a RatShack DX-440. It still works but could use a good shot of De-Oxit.

Check the sticky in the tuner forum re tuner cleaning(analog)

Yeah Ill have to check for it, ...this radio is absolutely amazong..looks like it was taken care of, its just needed to be cleaned...good antennas, strap etc..and to tell you the truth the dial is pretty much dead on. I just need to rework the power supply section..the caps mostly because when its playing the light will beat to the music and such..a little excessively
