Panasonic RS-715us reel 2 reel recorder

Hi Everyone. A couple of days ago I found a Panasonic rs-715us tape player/recorder. I've never seen this model before. I'm in my 50's so i have seen quite a few r2r recorders. Google searches have informed me that this was also sold as a Technics rs-715us along under the brand name National Panasonic. I was curious as to the worth and have only found one on ePay for stupid money. Do i have something special or is that seller just plain crazy?

I had one and it was a very good machine, well laid out internally and a terrific performer (but quite heavy). Only thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that it would pierce the paper labels on tape reels because of the locating nub they had to put on the reel tables due to the incredibly fast rewind and fast forward speeds. You don’t see them often, I think the majority of them came home from overseas with servicemen who bought them from the military px. Questions of worth belong over in the Dollars and Sense forum.

Thank you! While google searching this recorder your "user" name came up from a post years ago. I won't be asking this question on the dollars and sense forum because I think i already know the answer. You are the only reply with a small number of views on this thread. The ePay seller that has one is of the many ePay dreamers who wants crazy money for things! I think this is way less valuable than a rt-707.
