Could anyone tell me the parameters to test for 6EU7 tube. I have Heathkit TC-2 and Seco 107 tubes tester. Thanks so much for your reply!

Other than the pin out being different and the heater offering only a 6.3 volt configuration, the 6EU7 is nothing more than a variation of the 12AX7. If you can figure out the different switch settings to accommodate the different pin out on your testers, you can then set the tester's basic test conditions up for a 12AX7 to properly test the tube.

I just happen to have a TC-2 that was my dad's and 6EU7 is on the roll chart!

Please explain to a noobe.

The 6EU7 has the pins wired differently than the 12AX7. Inside the tube, however, the working parts are the same- they do the same job.

It won't directly plug-in where a 12AX7 would go. You'd have to re-wire the socket... or in this case, find the different switch settings on a tube tester, to accommodate the difference in the pin layout.

Thanks Gordon. I have the re-wire sequence to convert to a 12AX7 should I need it. My 6EU7's are working fine in my Magnavox 8802. But as they are difficult to come by and getting expensive I wanted to test mine in a PACO T-62 tester and find they are not listed in the test book. They are the original Magnavox/RCA 6EU7 tubes, they are no longer young.
