Paramours with Mesh Plates

Finally got around to taking a picture of my Paramour's with the Meshplates installed.

I'd also finally gotten around to Tung Oiling the bases as well. I think it's looking fairly good. I think some kind of unusual tranny covers are now in order and I'm keeping my eyes out for something that suits my personality.

After three or four days of nearly constant usage the Meshplate Tubes are really beginning to break in nicely. "The Crash Test Dummies, God Shuffled his Feet CD" is incredible as is the rest of my favorites.

The meshplates took me to a whole new place that I didn't know was possible.

Looks great (love the graphics!). When you've spent more time with the meshies please offer your thoughts on there sonic signature. I've yet to experience mesh plates, but from what I've read I'm really missing out! MikE

I don't know MikE, these tubes might ruin you for 45s. I would be very careful. Maybe someone will have some at Lima. I love my 5 volters and one of the things I know you would like about them is that the soundstaging seems to be best at 90 db or less for most music. 300B meshies and Heil AMT-1 dipoles, well it gets pretty hard to beat that combo.

I'd love to be ruined

Regardless of what is done all tube types will have a certain quality or "family sound". Sure some varities will improve on that sound but never get away from it. After listening to EL34s, 2A3s and 300bs I like the 45 best. And the best thing is that you don't need to get some magical, hard to find sample to enjoy it. Most any example will represent the quality that many have come to admire.

I posed the question to Inmate "SetDude" (Les Lammers) who has both a JK45 (45) and Welborne Laurels (300b). He has the EML 45 solid plates and 300b mesh plates and responded, "No, the TJ's in my Laurels are excellent, but a 300B is not a 45 and a 45 will not ever be a 300B and a 45 will not "do it all' unless you have 108db+ speakers. JMHO and WTF do I know. Les"
