Parasound A21+ good bad ugly?

Did you say birds?
Currently for SS I'm running a pair of Emotive XPA 1L mono blocks with a Parasound Halo P6 as the pre. Was thinking of changing out the Emotivas with something new, hence the A21+. Does anyone have input on the the A21+ other than what is on the internet? Did you buy one and think OMG this is the holy grail or think crap, this is a piece of garbage.

I have owned the A21 and now have the JC5. These amps are not crap or garbage. I am not sure where you are coming from.
 
I only know someone that had an A21. He loved it. With that said, I am now reaching a point where I look for service and the companies willingness to answer questions. Example: Pass Labs. I had a problem after unhooking and re-hooking my set up. No sound out of one channel. Pass spent over an hour on the phone with me till I figured out a stupid mistake I made. I was embarrassed about it and they still said not to worry, that is why they are their. Example: Teac. I had a streamer that would no longer connect to the internet. It was like pulling teeth to get to someone that could help me. I had to do repeated calls to finally get help. One of the centers they told me to send the unit to told me they don’t work on that unit. Ultimately had to send it across country to be repaired. That service center was first rate. Teac... not so much.
What I’m saying is, how does the company respond to problems and are they there for you when you need them.

I had a question about how the P6 dac compared to the dac in my Bluesound Node2. Phil picked up the phone on the second ring. Surprisingly to me, Phil was very familiar with the dac in the Bluesound. He did say they were comparable and sent me an email so I would have his contact info and asked if I could give my impressions of both. Unfortunately, upon comparing, the optical out (door) on my Bluesound broke before I could get a good read on the difference. Reminder-fix Node.

Based my experience and the responses so far, I would give Parasound high marks for their customer service.

I keep looking for a gently used JC5 to pop up for sale but no luck yet...new would be nice but out of my budget
 
I'm very happy with my Parasound JC2. I looked at an A21+ before I found the Adcoms I'm currently running. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Yes, I'm Jones'ing for a JC5 or a pair of JC1 to go with it.:beerchug:

PS - Consider Bryston. Maybe the champs of customer service.;)

Parasound makes very high quality gear. I own one of their older DAC's that just keeps running, as well as a preamp and two amps. All of them are top-notch stuff and sound great.
 
Parasound stuff never disappoints. I heard the 21 pre + model and it was fantastic. With smart speaker pairing, it can be end-game gear. Plus, it’s an absolute perfect match for your P6. My local tech does not hate working on Parasound stuff and the support, as you’ve read, is excellent and in country. The newer version is supposedly even better.

I think the P6 is really tough to beat! Great DAC, great phono stage. Why not go down the path you’re already on?!
 
I have the A21+, P6 Pre-amp, an older T3 tuner, and a Cambridge Audio AXC35 CD player playing through a new pair of Monitor Audio Silver 500s... the A21+ is a beast! I can play it for 8 hours straight a moderate to high volume with no ear fatigue, and it barely gets warm.
