Parasound DAC?

I've been looking for a decent DAC for my system. Locally, I found a Parasound D/AC-1100HD DAC. But, I don't know much about it. Are Parasound DAC's any good? If in good shape, what might it be worth? Money is tight, so I don't want to offer too much. More curious I guess, since I didn't have much knowledge on this particular model... Just wondered if it would better my old Yamaha DSP-A3090 for digital sound quality??? :scratch2:

If you mean D/AC-1100HD, it's definitely a good DAC. I scored one of these a few years back for $100 and was amazed at how great it sounded. I'm still using it as the DAC in my main system because it sounds better than any of my one-box CD players and both of my other DACs (Marantz DP-870 Dolby Digital DAC and the digital CD input to my Sony TA-E2000ESD). I'm not sure what the current market value of the Parasound is.

So, sounds like I could pick it up fairly cheaply, and it should sound better than my 3090 too. A win, win. :yes:
