I don't know if there are any other fans of Paul Siebel on here but I literally shed tears tonight when I heard that Paul had passed away today. I saw him perform in the early 70s many times, friends of mine were in his touring band so I was introduced to him on several occasions. For those that knew of him they knew several of his songs were covered by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Leo Kotke, and more.
My impression of him was that he was somewhat shy and was more comfortable off stage than on stage. After his two albums failed to make big sales he just seemed to walk away from music and live a 9-5 blue collar life.
tomorrow I will pull out his albums and give them my undivided attention. Thank you Paul for those gems you left behind for us. Tonight you get to ride home on the mail train.
