PCB control power hack?

Hey. Got a luxman AVR w- bad control secondary (16v-ac). Unit must power ON via relay on that board.
Was thinking about jumping- in an external source to see if the thing will power up & close the relay and allow me to further assess the unit. Prob use a 1/4 amp fast blow fuse, or smaller, maybe.
Should call Mr Electroboom?

Why not just jumper across the relay? Isn't it simply replacing a conventional power switch? Or is it part of the protection cct?

It worked.. she came ON, DBT dimmed as designed..!
I used a bread board momentary sw as a quick release for cautions sake..I may attempt to power up for further assessment..
