Hello! I have a pair of B&O S75. I went through and upgraded the crossovers with some nice Mundorf capacitors and higher wattage resistors...the downside is that the sound is much improved, enough to notice a slight but perceivable difference in the the tweeters. When I got these speakers, one of the original tweeter had been replaced with a generic one.

I want to find the original or higher quality matched replacement for the peerless k010dt tweeters. There many clones for this popular tweeter, but they all seem to be 8 ohm. I read somewhere that the original ones in these speaker were 4ohm drivers.

Any information on the original specs and recommendation for like or better replacements?

I did my fair bit of google search and thought someone here may know better.

That Peerless tweeter is a fine performer. Maybe not Scanspeak Revelator or SEAS Excell performance, but it's no slouch either. Everything I've been able to find, 8 ohms seems to be the most common impedance. If one of your tweeters is original. remove it and measure its resistance. If you can, replace with suitable Peerless originals, which are available from many sources. If your originals are 8 ohm, Simply Speakers has replacements that should work fine. In any case, replace both tweeters at the same time to avoid subtle differences.

I was able to find a few original used peerless on ebay. But their condition would be unknown. Are the generic clones comparable in quality?

If the originals were 4 ohm and I put in an 8ohm replacement, what's is the impact? Does it mess with the rest of the crossover?
 
B&O consistently used 4 ohm rated drivers in their speakers back then, so odds are your tweeter is indeed a rare 4 ohm rated unit. About the only way to find another exact replacement is to hope that someone parts out an S-75 and puts the parts on Fleabay.

By using an 8 ohm rated version to replace a 4 ohm rated version it would change the cross-over frequency (and the roll off slopes if the crossover is a higher order than a 1st order design) and the efficiency could be different as well. The 8 ohm versions of that tweeter were used in a large number of speaker models back in the 1970's from a bunch of different manufacturers but if your tweeter is truly a 4 ohm rated unit, then it's likely B&O was one of the only speaker companies to use that unit.
 
Thanks for the responses. I was able to find a unit that was parted from the S75 speaker. Hoping it doesn't show up as a lemon.
 
Update: the replacement B&O S75 donor tweeter and arrived. Thankfully it works and it was indeed 4 ohms. Now the both channels sound alike!

Incidentally the older "replacement" was a brand names ADS and it also measured 4ohms.f it was just different voicing from the original that contributed to the channel sound difference
